Exam and Assessments
Assessment Pattern
For Classes Pre- Nur to Prep
- No Formal Examination will be held only continuous Comprehensive assessment will be followed.
- Class Assignment will be done
- Observation will be based on communication skills, listening speaking, reading and writing skills and all round development.
- Grades will be awarded
For Classes I & II
- There will be 4 cycles of Assessment in the academic year.
- Activities will be conducted in the class for different subject.
- Grades will be given as per the academic performance and class observation.
For Classes III to VIII
- The academic year has been divided into two semesters, Each semester will have two cycles of FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT (FA) followed by SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT (SA).
FA will comprise of:
- Monday test
- Class work
- Home work
- Oral questions
- Quizzes
- Projects
- Assignments/Worksheet
For Classes IX to X
Semester 2 will have two cycles formative assessment:
Summative Assessment:
The summative assessment is the assessment at the end of each term.
The summative assessment will be in the form of pen-paper test.
These summative assessments are conducted twice as SA I & SA II
Formative and Summative Assessments, both are mandatory for all students. No marks will be awarded in case of any absence except in the following cases
- Exemption granted by the school authority for any school activity.
- Genuine medical certificate should be produced within two days of missed Assessment. Medical certificate submitted at a later date will not be considered.Exemption on the medical grounds will be given only once in an academic year.
- Use of Unfair means: Student found using unfair means during assessments will be given zero in that subject. No Retest will be conducted.
- Monday Test marks for classes III to X will be considered a per the CCE guidelines given by the CCE guidelines given by the CBSE which stresses on continues and during he academic year it will be the part of FA(s)
- Zero will be given to the student, who absent himself/herself from the Monday test, except where exemption has been granted for medical reasons or participation in activities, representing the school.
- Monday test are compulsory for all students of classes III to XI.
FOR CLASSES XI & XII
- There will be 3 cycles of Monday test for each subject in class XI
- There will be two formal examinations in month of September and March.
- For class XII there will be three cycles of monthly tests, apart from first term and Pre-board exams.
- The whole year syllabus will be included in the annual and pre-board exam in all subjects.
Weightage of Assessment
- For Class XI result will be declared on the basic of cumulative assessment in the following manner
- Monday Test 10%
- Term I Exam 30%
- Term II Exam 60%
Student must secure minimum 40 % in the cumulative marks (In theory & practicals separately) in each subject in each exam.In case a student has a genuine medical problem, an application must be submitted before or on the day of the exam. The case will be reviewed by the Principal on an individual basis and a decision for retest will then be taken.
Co -Scholastic Areas
- Co- Scholastic Areas will consist of life skills (Thinking, Problem Solving, Decision making, Self awareness, Social skills- Interpersonal, Communication, Empathy etc. Emotional Skills-Dealing with stress, managing emotion etc.) Attitude (toward teachers, school mates, school programmes, environment, value systems, Co-scholastic Activities (Literacy Creative Skills, Scientific Skills, Aesthetic & Performing Art) and Physical Education.
- Observation Based on above mentioned areas will be made throughout the year and grades will be awarded accordingly
